Perfect Cold Brew

Cold brew is one of the simplest and most delicious methods to brew coffee. It’s smooth, not really acidic, and pairs great with a splash of milk. Here is Civic Roasters’ favorite way to make cold brew concentrate. Try it with different beans to highlight each roast’s different notes!

1 bag of Civic Roasters beans, 12oz

64 fl oz cold water

Grind your beans coarsely, you want the grounds to look like kosher salt. Put it in a pitcher, mason jar, or any other large container (or half the recipe and fit it into a french press). Pour the cold water in. Mix with a wooden spoon. Cover and leave at room temp for 12-13 hours. Strain with a cheesecloth or paper coffee filter and sieve. Store in the fridge. This makes a concentrate so we recommend cutting it: 1 part concentrate, 1 part water (or milk).

To serve, fill a glass with ice. Pour 4oz concentrate over ice. Add 4 oz water. Enjoy!
